Working language: English, Hindi, Hinglish

How Neev's language switching works — three locales wired end-to-end, with translation coverage still rolling out screen by screen.

Overview

Your staff don't all read English the same way. The counter operator may be quicker in Hindi; a field rep may think in Hinglish. Neev lets each person pick their own working language so the dashboard reads the way they think — no shared setting, no admin needed. Pick once and Neev remembers it for a full year.

Where to find it

Look for the globe icon in the topbar, top-right of every web screen. Click it and a small menu opens with three choices:

  • English
  • हिन्दी (Hindi)
  • Hinglish

Pick one and the page refreshes into that language. The choice is yours alone — it does not change anything for your teammates. Language switching lives on the web dashboard. The default for a fresh account is English.

Key concepts

  • Locale — the language code behind each choice. Neev ships three: en (English), hi (Hindi, in Devanagari script), and hi-en (Hinglish). These are the only three wired today.
  • Sticky preference — your pick is saved to your own user profile and also written to a browser cookie that lasts one year. Next time you log in, Neev opens in the language you left it in.
  • Translation coverage — the plumbing is fully in place, but the words are still being filled in screen by screen. Today the Pack screens (Pharma, Dairy, Quick Commerce) plus a handful of core pages — Customers, Inventory, Orders, Warehouse — are translated. Most other dashboard pages still show English even after you switch. More screens get translated each release.

Common workflows

1
Open the language menu
Click the globe icon in the topbar (top-right corner). The menu lists English, हिन्दी, and Hinglish, with a tick next to your current language.
2
Pick a language
Tap the one you want. Neev saves it to your profile and refreshes the screen into that language. If you pick the language you're already on, nothing happens.
3
Carry on
Your choice sticks for a year. Log out and back in, or open Neev on the same device tomorrow — it stays in the language you chose.

When you land on a screen that hasn't been translated yet, it simply shows English. That's expected — the language is saved correctly; the words for that page just haven't been filled in yet.

Role notes

Language is a personal preference, not a permission. Owner, Manager, Operator, Accountant, Warehouse, Delivery and Sales can each set their own working language from the globe icon — every signed-in user has this, regardless of role.

What it does not do: changing your language only changes how the dashboard reads for you. It does not switch anyone else's screen, and it does not change the language of WhatsApp messages, invoices, or other documents your business sends out — those are separate from this dashboard setting.

Tips & time-savers

Tip
Hindi and Hinglish need no extra setup — the Devanagari font is already loaded across the whole app, so हिन्दी renders cleanly the moment a screen is translated. Just pick from the globe and go.

Set your language once on day one. Because the choice is saved for a year against your own login, you won't have to repeat it on the same device.

Gotchas

Warning
Most dashboard pages still render in English even after you switch to Hindi or Hinglish — translation coverage is rolling out screen by screen. If a page looks English after switching, that's not a saved-wrong setting; the words for that screen just aren't translated yet. Today only the Pack screens and a few core pages (Customers, Inventory, Orders, Warehouse) are fully translated.

Gujarati and Punjabi are not available yet. The plan is to add them later as translation files, but only English, Hindi, and Hinglish are wired today.
